About SDRIW


The Regional Info Watch is a combination of network neighborhood block watch, user's group, and information-sharing organization. We provide an opportunities for:

  • Information Exchange/Information Sharing on technical and legal issues relevant to computer security
  • Face-Time/Familiarity between area professionals and law enforcement
  • Networking opportunities for people in the computer security arena
  • Early-warning of regional incidents
  • Education on security tools, techniques, and standards.

The Regional Information Watch is open to anyone who wishes to participate.

Next Meeting: June 21st, 2005, 1:00-3:00 PM at the SDSC Auditorium.

This month Tony Doan of SAIC will be demonstrating several killer tools. These tools include nmap, p0f (passive OS detection), nikto (website vulnerability scanner), and metasploit (an exploit framework).
